Happy New Year!
As we all are aware of the saying, " Laughter is the best medicine", I am going to start my 2025 blog of my personal PJ's.(Jokes) I have been cracking PJ's for which I have been made fun off several times. But you know as Dr Seuss once said, " I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living"
Let's get started - LOL, ROFL :)
I am beginning my blog with one of my friend's funny memories which he brought it up when we gathered to celebrate New year's eve.
Surname Vs "Sir name"
English not being the first language for many natives from my country struggles with expressing their thoughts during their learning phase of English and this sometimes create some funny memories and gives us a chance to laugh together at it.
In Marathi medium schools English language starts at grade level 5. Students struggle to translate words in Marathi language to English. They find it difficult to make the meaning out of the English words and this can change into some funny memories.
This is from my friend's childhood memories:
The question asked to my friend on his school test was: " what is your surname?" Ideally he was asked to provide his last name. Now, my friend thinks that he is asked his " Sir name" and writes the name of his "Sir" ( teacher) and not his last name:)
Teacher still in shock!
